The Source Farm Ecovillage Story



The Source Farm evolved from a need for Jamaicans to return home to Jamaica.

The Founder of the Source Farm Foundation & Learning Village is Blondel Shirley-Atwater. Blondel left Jamaica in the 1980's in search of a better life and to offer her 3 children a greater opportunity and education.

After many years of work, learning and myriad of life experiences Blondel felt it was time to return home to Jamaica now that her children were grown, schooled and with families of their own.

It was time to get back to the Source of what had sustained her and her family even when they were away in foreign lands. In her search for 3-6 acres of land Blondel was blessed with the opportunity of purchasing 63 acres of the most beautiful land in St. Thomas, Jamaica.

This afforded her the ability to purse her dream of doing her healing, teaching, living work. She gathered her children once again and the many friends and family she met in her travels and created the Source Farm Foundation a teaching, learning, loving, healing community.
