Johns Town Women's Craft Cooperative (JTWCC)

The mission of the Johns Town Women’s Sewing and Craft Cooperative is to establish a viable business that will be able to compete in the local and international marketplace by producing unique, well-crafted, soft furnishing products and crafts at a competitive price. The project also seeks to create a practical employment option for the women in the Johns Town Community and in doing so, raise the economic and social standards of the Johns Town community. A cooperative business structure has been selected to achieve a creative and sustainable business model that will allow for a competitive advantage as we seek to enter the local, national and international craft marketplace.

The Cooperative Story

The Johns Town Women's Craft Cooperative is located in scenic Johns Town, over looking Morant Bay, St. Thomas, Jamaica.  The Cooperative was founded in 2007 by a group of talented community women.  Their mission was to join together to increase their sewing skills, and generate income for themselves and  their families.   Since 2007 the women have been working together, gathering new skills, learning how to establish a viable business enterprise and most importantly, creating beautiful handcrafted items.

Recently the Cooperative has received  new equipment from the Private Sector Development Programme, which has allowed the women to increase their production capacity.  Our current mission is to move into a large production space and to acquire more skill in Fabric and Fiber Arts.

It is our mission to provide you with high quality, well crafted products in a timely professional manner.  We look forward to receiving your order!
