Source Farm Ecovillage Committees
LEGAL/DOCUMENTS Legal/Documents/Administration This committee is responsible for the researching and developing polices and guidelines that will enable the Source Farm Ecovillage to comply with Jamaican and United States Laws and polices and guidelines of the Source Farm Ecovillage. Current Projects: Developing a 501C3 in the USA, establishing a Source Farm Ecovillage Community Land Trust and Non profit in Jamaica. Committee Lead: Contact Info: PERMACULTURE/AGRI/FARMING Agriculture/Farm/Gardens/Landscape This committee is has the very important responsibility to assist in creating policy that keeps us aligned with our mission of creating a environment that follows the principal of permaculture and sustainability. The Committee also establishes project around agriculture, livestock and food sustainability for Source Farm and its members. Current Projects: Creating a vegetable garden, planting 50 apple trees and clearing 2 acres of land. DESIGN Architecture/Building/Structures This committee was created to be responsible for establishing the guidelines and polices for all building, physical structures and their development on the Source Farm Ecovillage. They work along with local and national agencies to meet building codes and guidelines. This committee also works directly with architect, contractors and builders to ensure all the physical structures are aligned with Source Farm Ecovillage’s building code and design. Current Projects: The construction of the first Earthbag Dwelling at the Source Farm Ecovillage. It deals with the day to day issues for paying bills, Source $$, tracking member dues to the long term financial planning of the community. Current Projects: Developing an internal accounting system, establishing Source Farm Ecovillage bank account in USA and Jamaica that would be able to handle our global finances. This committee working within the community to establish the image of the entire Ecovillage They also creates opportunities for the Global community to recognize us as leaders in our field. They are responsible for Press Kits, creating marketing events and selling the Source Farm Ecovillage to the Global Community. SFE believes in integrating cutting edge technology that will assist up in living a high quality of living while not harming the environment. Creates polices and guidelines of how to handle conflicts and day to day community issues. This committee works with all the committees and incorporates the Arts in every facet of the SEF. Current Projects: Bringing together Artist from the USA and Jamaica to participate at SFE, creating a data base of Artist. They create opportunities for community members to participate in activities that will bring harmony and well being into their life. They also work with The Spa at the Source to create policies for the community and guests. Current Projects: Create a spa plan of select healing modalities for the community/environment.
